* Ben Wendel Seasons Band

The saxophonist and multi-reed instrumentalist Ben Wendel play the tenor with the kind of airy density you kind find in Wayne Shorter’s post-fusion work or Kenny Garrett’s 90s era. While perhaps best known as a a member of the “un-pinowable” fusion group Kneebody, these days you kind find Wendel collaborating with many of the leading voices of his generation (you may have seen him play at Capitalbop’s December 2017 Loft with Linda May Han Oh). Here he performs with his “Seasons Band,” a group dedicated to performing music from his “Seasons” duets project, which featured the likes of Julian Lage, Joshua Redmen and Ambrose Akinmusire. Two separate sets at 8 and 10 p.m.
