Singer Akua Allrich has been performing an annual tribute to Nina Simone and Miriam Makeba for a while now; in fact, this marks the 11th year of the tradition. The performance is expanding to a half-day festival focused on elevating women of the African diaspora and the arts hosted at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, featuring vendors, an art exhibition and a panel discussion.

Tickets for the headlining event, Akua Allrich’s 11th Annual Nina Simone and Miriam Makeba tribute, are sold separately from the day festival.
