DC’s Blacks’ Myths – bassist and electronics programmer Luke Stewart (full disclosure: a co-founder of Capitalbop) and the drummer Warren “Trae” Crudup – is probably best known in other circles as the propellant rhythm section for saxophonist James Brandon Lewis. When the duo perform as Blacks’ Myths, they create amorphous but driving pieces that focus on phased harmonics and rhythmic interplay.
