Organist Booker T. Jones is one of the foundational musicians of American soul music. As leader of Booker T. & the MG’s, the house band for the great Memphis soul label Stax Records, Jones helped shape the twangy, swinging blues of his group into the basic elements of funk and heavy rock n’ roll. His touch on the Hammond B-3 remains as malleable as ever, capable of the most luxurious and relaxing strolls as well as divine heraldry.

He celebrates the release of his new memoir Time Is Tight and its companion album Note By Note.
