* Chris Potter Circuits Trio

May 1, 2019 @ 8:00 pm
Blues Alley
1073 Wisconsin Ave NW
DC 20007
$30 (Plus $12 Minimum and $5 Fees)

The versatile saxophonist Chris Potter came of age in the Young Lions generation and was elastic in tone enough to flit between the then uptown and downtown scenes of Manhattan. He boasts a staggeringly lengthy resume; recent performances include Zakir Hussain & Dave Holland’s Cross Currents as well as the Perez, Potter Cohen trio. He leads his new group, the Circuits trio, a more groove and electronic-driven vision of jazz that can evoke ’80s pop jazz. He performs with pianist James Francies and drummer Eric Harland. Two separate sets at 8 and 10 p.m.
