Austin, Texas based percussionist, composer and creative improviser Claire Rousay often plays behind a drum set, but that’s where convention stops. Her performances often involve her stretching the kit’s sonic palette beyond normal imagination,  deconstructing the traditional functions of the instrument (as well as much of the gendered thought around it).

On the second night of her residency, Rousay performs in a trio with the exhilarating alto saxophonist and improviser Sarah Hughes and cellist Zach Branch.
