Dante Pope may be best known to many of D.C.’s jazz crowd as a steady drummer who brings some of the groove from his years playing soul and gospel. As a leader he brings that soul and R&B study to the forefront, playing music that blurs the lines between coffee shop singer-songwriters and Motown vocal groups like Boyz II Men and The Temptations. His After Five Music project is dedicated to the grooves and thoughts that arise when the sun goes down.
