Trumpeter Dave Douglas emerged in the mid-80s with many other musicians as part of the “downtown” creative and avant-garde scene in New York around the Village and Chelsea. He proved equally adept at hanging with John Zorn and riding the new wave of new music as he was touring with the likes of Horace Silver. His own work these days travels in between improvised expanse and stirring melodies, messaging a better world.

Douglas leads a master class over live stream as part of the DC Jazz Fest from Home.
