Soul-jazz revivalist Delvon Lamarr is determined to put the “soul” back into soul jazz. Lamarr’s vision of the music more directly draws on influences like Curtis Mayfield, Al Green and James Brown, which is hemmed by workhorse guitarist Jimmy James. He plays the Hammond B-3 organ lightly on solos, letting his fingers dance across the keys like Mr. Brown’s feet across a stage, but knows how to sink in and soak up the big choruses. Two separate sets at 8 and 10 p.m.
