Rhizome DC
6950 Maple St NW
Washington D.C. 20012
$20 (Plus $2.45 Fee)

Drummer Tomas Fujiwara, guitarist Mary Halvorson, and brass player Taylor Ho Bynum are three of the most celebrated figures in creative music today. Fujiwara’s approach to the kit is fluid and ever-evolving, as he can be found laying down steady beats to the likes of Meshell Ndegeocello or exploding behind Michael Formanek. Halvorson can be at one time jagged and angular or light and buoyant; her touch on both the guitar neck and composition is singular. Bynum twists the trumpet, cornet, trombone and whatever brass he gets his hands on into something far beyond the classic tone.

The trio performs around exterior of Rhizome D.C. with totally outdoor seating in a presentation sponsored by Transparent Productions.

Advanced tickets required.
