Trumpeter Hart Guonjian-Pettit, another local trying to break out on the I-95 scene, likes his Art Blakey and Lee Morgan; blowing his horn and leading groups in the mid-century, hard-bop style.

He leads a group at An Die Musik Live featuring some DMV heavy hitters like Elijah Jamal Balbed and Elliot Seppa, as well as fellow relative newcomers like pianist Ellington Carthan and drummer Joey Antico.
