* Jamie Baum Septet +

November 21, 2015 @ 8:00 pm
Atlas Performing Arts Center
1333 H St NE
Washington, DC 20002

Flutist Jamie Baum has a deep, contemplative tone; she likes to explore modal themes in her original compositions, or she veers into structural abstraction. Here she appears with a septet featuring trumpet player Kenny Warren, alto sax and bass clarinet man Sam Sadigursky, french horn player Chris Komer, guitarist Brad Shepik, pianist Luis Perdomo, bassist Zack Lober, and drummer Jeff Hirshfield.

The performance will be preceded by a CapitalBop Riffin’ Session, where CapitalBop’s editors will facilitate a conversation between Baum and the audience, centered on a discussion of videos of her musical inspirations.
