The annual soft-launch of the D.C. Jazz Festival, “Jazz N’ Family Fun Days” features some of the best jazz artists in D.C. performing all day at the Phillips Collection for absolutely free! Activities start at 10 a.m.

The first day includes performances by bass elder Herman Burney’s trio; Donvonte McCoy’s, arguably the city’s best trumpeter, Quartet; powerful, spiritually-fueled drummer Nasar Abadey’s Renaissance Trio with D.C. jazz dean Allyn Johnson; and trombonist Reginald Cyntje’s activating Afro-Caribbean jazz.
