Winner of the 2008 Monk Competition, saxophonist Jon Irabagon is one of the most interesting and prolific musicians in jazz. The Filipino-American saxophonist’s style is extremely fluid, able to cover Albert Ayler’s skronk, Coltrane’s sheets of sound, flowing, honey-sweet straight-ahead in the span of minutes (he’s also known to dable in doom metal). He’s worked with just about everyone from Lou Reed to Wynton Marsalis, a testament to his mastery of and imagination on his instrument.

He leads a quartet in a performance that will be broadcast from An Die Musik Live.

The link to the livestream will be emailed once you’ve purchased a ticket.
