Takoma Park’s Joshua Jenkins studied the ivories at the Duke Ellington School then Philadelphia’s Temple University. He’s mostly known around the area right now as an accompanist – but he’s already highly regarded in that role. He brings a considerable palette, evoking vibrant chromatic colors on whatever he plays. The blend of warm and cool shades he creates in the mind is like watching a master watercolor painter at work.
He plays a live streamed concert for the first iteration of CapitalBop’s “Freedom Summer” series.
