* Leprechaun Catering / Ancestral Duo

Rhizome DC
6950 Maple St NW
Washington D.C. 20012
$20 (Plus $2.45 Fee)

The electronic-music duo Leprechaun Catering has been a cornerstone of the Baltimore experimental music scene for two decades. Members Jason Willett and Tom Borax draw on a broad audio coalition – from Indian film music and dance music to jazz and punk – to create their soundscapes.

Another iconic Mid-Atlantic duo opens the night: the Ancestral Duo. Comprised of bassist and eletronic musician Luke Stewart (Disclosure: CapitalBop’s Director of Presenting) and saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Jamal Moore, a disciple of the avant-garde icon Wadada Leo Smith. The two build sonic paintings out of a glorious, stirring mix of free improvisation across their toy box of instruments and sounds.

The whole night takes place around the exterior of Rhizome D.C. with totally outdoor seating in a presentation sponsored by Transparent Productions.

Advanced tickets required.
