Experimental guitarist Lucas Brode draws on jazz harmony, African rhythms and rock textures to inform his chameleon like music. His compositions and their titles vary with his intent and message: he’s as likely to embark on a near-20 minute drone odyssey as he is to play a Derek Bailey-esque untethered guitar piece. He is joined by Capitalbop’s own Luke Stewart on bass and DC’s Nate Scheible on drums.
Opening for Brode is the live debut of a noise/free/drone duo made of two of DC’s rising creatives: Mattson Ogg and Ian McColm.
