Luis Faife’s phrasing can punch or slide, rattle your brain and tug on your hips. He brings Afro-Cuban and Afro-Peruvian elements into his bebop playing, which is some of the fleetest you’ll hear in D.C. He leads a group of the region’s best Cuban jazz musicians as part of the Artes de Cuba festival.
