Multi-reedist T.K. Blue, equally adept on the saxes and flute as he is with the kalimba, served as the musical director for the NEA Jazz Master and Pan-Africanist pianist Randy Weston for years. On the alto he warbles like Eric Dolphy, making the instrument cry out as if in grief, but he can also play ballads with airy tenderness.
He gathers powerhouse Baltimorian drummer Eric Kennedy and the great musical philosopher and multi-instrumentalist Jamal Moore in a trio to perform a special program dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement. The trios performs a concert broadcast from An Die Musik Live in Baltimore.
