Straight-ahead trumpeter Thad Wilson plays with bursting articulation, and a generous insistence on clarity. It’s easy to fall in love with his playing.

At this appearance at Westminster’s Jazz Night in D.C., Wilson leads a big band featuring some of the best players on the scene, including saxophonists Antonio Hart and Brian Settles, trombonists Reginald Cyntje and Dupor Georges, Michael Bowie on bass and Lenny Robinson on drums.
