The Soul Searchers helped define the sound of Go-Go – and the sound of Chocolate City – back in the late 1970s as the backing band for the Godfather himself, Chuck Brown. The rumbling bass and sly horns wove the grooves that propelled hits like “Busting Loose” and “Wind Me Up” into the popular conscious. This was one of the best go-go groups in D.C.

A reformed version of the group, featuring a mix of new and old members, performs the hits and perform a live stream in a program sponsored by the Alexandria Office of the Arts.
