North Rhine Westphalia was the first state in Germany (then West-Germany) to support the formation of a youth jazz orchestra. Some 44 years later, the The Youth Jazz Orchestra of North Rhine Westphalia continues to provide education and a environment of teeth cutting for young jazz musicians in Germany.
