For six wonderful hours on Sunday evening, U Street’s Lounge of III got a lot more swingin’. In the final installation of Gerald Watson’s “The Classics” series, a vast collection of jazz album covers went up on the walls (all of them from the personal collection of Som Records owner Neal Becton). DJ 2-Tone Jones spun records by the front window, while artist James Terrell painted upstairs beneath a video showing clips of old jazz greats. In other words, the vibe was just right.
